Todd Christie Brother Christopher defeats Jon Corzine in NJ

Christopher Christie NJRepublican contender Christopher Christie has whitewashed incumbent Jon Corzine to turn out to be the first Republican Governor of New Jersey in 12 years.

Christie landed 49% of the voted Vs 45% for Corzine with 98% of the precincts count, in a poll that surprised several political pundits. Christie a former U.S lawyer campaigned on disappointment with the Corzine’s performance for the period of the recession.

According to various analysts, the race was the first test of the fame of the Obama administration.

Christopher Christie overcomes off-putting coverage of his campaign due to the participation of his brother Todd Christie. Todd Christie was the CEO of Spear Leeds & Kellogg and one of the five largest trading firms on Wall Street that was establish by the SEC to have occupied in illegal trading practices as of 1999-2003. When the SEC examination became public in 2003, Todd Christie was enforced out of his position.

The Christie Family Foundation donates almost $1.75 million to charitable organizations between 2004 and 2007, according to four years of tax returns released in Christopher Christie’s campaign.  The foundation contributed $292,000 in 2004, $589,421 in 2005, $386,940 in 2006, and $479,050 in 2007.

Charity have included $200,000 to St. Barnabas Medical Center, $100,000 to Morristown Memorial Hospital , $95,000 to the Child Abuse Prevention Program, $75,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Goryeb Children’s Hospital, $50,000 to Tomorrow’ Children.  They also gave hefty contributions to DePaul Catholic High School and the Mendham PBA.
