CES 2010 kicks off this week and analysts are look forward to the predominant themes to be connectivity and mobility. Mobile devices such as new Android devices and tablet computers are likely to be a big spotlight. In the meantime, Google and Apple are both likely to make announcements regarding their upcoming plans this month.

The GOOGLE Nexus One is planned to launch on 5th January, whereas Apple is rumoured to be announcing their tablet device around on 26th January. Ultra portable computers/ tablet device designed for surfing the internet and watching movies on the move could be one of the biggest achievement stories at this week Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

FreeScale a US Company has shown off a prototype gadget that could be used by other electronics makers to create cutting edge tablet computers/devices that will cost below $200. The tablets which has a 7in touch screen, turns on swiftly and connects immediately to the internet via Wi-Fi connection or the mobile phone network and supply a full day of battery life. Henri Richard senior vice president of sales and marketing for Freescale said tablet devices were the “missing link” between PCs and smart phones.

Some manufacturers will also use the Consumer Electronics Show to platform their tablet devices. Notion Ink an Indian manufacturer will show its tablet device which runs Google’s Android OS and features such as energy saving 10in scratch proof touch screen and will allocate users to watch high-quality video on the move and to surf the internet on the clicks. Dell also expected to launch an Android OS based tablet device; whereas gadget fans will be hoping that Steve Ballmer Microsoft’s chief executive utilizes his keynote speech on Wednesday evening to share further details about the Courier dual-screen tablet devices and e-book reader that Microsoft is rumoured to be presently working on.

The tablet revolution is being focused by the growing ubiquity of wireless internet connections and consumers’ wish to surf the internet and watch videos on devices that are improved than a smart phone but smaller than a conventional laptop.
