Pro Wrestling Legend Jack Brisco a.k.a. Freddie Joe Brisco passed away; he was 68, according to the reports of Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObserver.com.
According to the reports, Brisco had been battling several health problems in recent past years, including emphysema and circulatory problems.
He endured open-heart surgery a few weeks ago, and collapsed whereas undergoing rehab a little over a week ago.
Brian Blair told Meltzer, “He was my best friend and my hero growing up” and echoing notes made by many wrestlers and folks in wrestling who grew up when Brisco was a larger-than-life persona promoted as the best technical wrestler, and superstar who could not be beat in a fair match.
Brisco, a two times World Heavyweight Champion, and many times Tag Team Champion with his brother Gerald Brisco; he was considered one of the best wrestlers of his time; Don Leo Jonathan called him “probably the greatest champion of the 20th century”, in 2005.
