Massachusetts State Senator Scott Brown celebrates with wife Gail Huff in Boston on Tuesday after winning a special election to fill the United States Senate seat left vacant by the death of Edward W. Kennedy; Brown became the first Republican senator from Massachusetts in last 30 years.

Brown, after his victory in the Massachusetts Senate race, called on the secretary of state to send him to Washington right away, say, Wednesday that he wants to send health insurance reform “back to the drawing board”.

On health care reform issue, he said he wants “everyone,” to have some form of health care coverage, but questioned plans to cut Medicare, and raise taxes to do it.

The Republican senator told that he was focused on moving to Washington when possible to try to free up some of the political snarl-up there.

In a NBC’S “Today Show” Brown said, “I have always just wanted to go down and solve the problem regardless of party”.

In Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown acceptance speech he gave honour to late Senator by saying that there is no one who can replace him, but he will try his best to be a worthy successor to late Senator Edward Kennedy; he is first Republican who will serve Massachusetts in the Senate after Edward W Brooke III.

Brown has been elected on Massachusetts Senate race result, as new United States Senator for Massachusetts; the surprising thing is that Massachusetts is a Democratic state earlier, but this time the public has elected a Republican contender to represent them on national level.

Brown will sit in the administrative centre of Democrat Senator Edward Kennedy who served his state for 47 years; he made health-care legislation the key weapon for his election campaign.

However, in Martha Coakley concession speech, she was considered hot favourite for this seat before MA election and all polls were performance her majority, lost her voters due to a sloppy campaign; in addition, she was criticized for taking Christmas off just before election.

President Barack Obama will campaign Sunday for an embattled Democrat looking for Ted Kennedy’s old Senate seat in Massachusetts, a Senate race that could alter the balance of power on Capitol Hill; the election is Tuesday.

Massachusetts Democratic nominee Martha Coakley is facing a tougher than expected encounter against Republican candidate Scott Brown; White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs said the president will campaign for Coakley in Boston on Sunday.

The 60th Democratic caucus place in the Senate, and the magic number required blocking any Republican filibuster, and falling below 60 votes would make problems Obama’s legislative strategy on a number of issues including health care bills.

Earlier this week White House officials said President had no plans to campaign in Massachusetts; what changed? Gibbs said, “He got invited”.

The health care bill issue should help Coakley, he added, “The president sees a pretty clear distinction between a candidate in Martha Coakley who’s going to fight for Massachusetts, and a candidate on the other side who feels comfortable fighting for the insurance industry and big banks”.

Gibbs rejected proposals that the closeness of the Senate race in Massachusetts, one of the bluest states in the nation that reflects dissatisfaction with the agenda of Obama and the Democrats; “We’re not on the ballot”, in Massachusetts, he said.
